This is still a long way off, but people with current Ultra HD 4K TV's may be in for a surprise when the first ATSC 3.0 TV’s come out. It's not going to happen this year, but maybe next year or the year after.

Most of the time your current Ultra HD 4K TV will not produce any better picture than a plain HD TV even if what you are watching claims to be 4K. The only 4K stuff out there right now is from some of the streaming services and it's very limited when available. It all has to do with the fact they have not finalized the ATSC 3.0 standard so all the TV's currently on the market are not the same and they all have different hardware. They will not start being the same until they finalize it. Looks like Korea will probably have ATSC 3.0 standard TV’s before we will here in the U.S.

It's quite possible your current Ultra HD 4K TV's may not produce any better picture and it may actually have problems when all of the TV stations start broadcasting in 4K per the new ATSC 3.0 standard after it gets finalized.
