Deregulation strikes again...

    While in Arkansas recently, I made a side trip to Memphis. On the way back, I stopped by my old alma mater, KNEA AM 970, in Jonesboro. While walking around the old transmitter building here's what I found.


    geeze... Not long before that service entrance cable gets rubbed bare & shorted by the movement of that tree above blowing in the breeze. This is what happens when you don't have an engineer doing routine maintenance.

    We had to do repair work on a local commercial repeater site along the same lines of what your picture shows. The sucked part about it the power couldn't be turned off we had to do it live scary stuff not my idea of fun.
