Well, I saw this on Ebay for $50 brand new + $50 for the LPF board, assembled, and couldn't resist. I stripped the chassis that previously held a VHF amp. ( railroad garbage ) and installed the little amp on the heat-sink. At least, the chassis already had SO-239s & a power connector installed... added 24VDC ( yes, that's 12ga romex ) and away we go ! Now, I wish I hadn't sold that service monitor, I could look at all the nice spurs ! It uses a Motorola MRF186 which is rated for 800MHZ~1GHZ ! output is 80~100 watts on 3.885 AM.
